CONCEPT:

“JAI SHRI KRISHNA" in the Shape of the Prophet’s (PBUH) Sandals “Na’alayn” Shape

Tamil folks have a tradition of drawing baby Krishna’s feet (called Kolam) with rice paste leading from outside to inside their house on Janmashtami day. Footprints leading to the prayer space or pooja room (which represents the innermost core of your being) signifies an inward-turned mind. Let outside worries go, experience peace within, welcome auspiciousness/ divine in.

In Islam, the shape of the Prophet’s (PBUH) sandals are called “Na’alayn” A sacred symbol of love and devotion, this holy shape is found in Islamic Art traditions across the globe.

The holy Quran says God sent “messengers to every people“, The prophet (PBUH) stated God sent no less than 124,000 prophets to mankind throughout history. Some schools of Islam, believe Krishna was a prophet, a hadith (sayings of the prophet (PBUH) states "There was a prophet of God in India who is dark in color and his name was Kahan [Krishna]” Shyam Sundar (another name for Krishna) means black beauty in Sanskrit.

Islam and Hinduism teach the unity of God/service to mankind — a message both Prophet (PBUH) and Lord Krishna taught.

“Jai Shri Krishna” written in stylized Arabic script in naalayn shape. “Peacock feathers” to the toes, blue color, are symbols of Lord Krishna, white for rice paste.
